Ahead of Cabinet meet, police, civil officers throng mantris' houses | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 18: Ahead of the State Cabinet meet, likely to be held anytime to effect transfers of senior officers, several police and civil officers today called on some Ministers and spent time with them at their residences. The officers, who included heads of some police wings, sought favours from the Ministers for choice postings. Some of the officers had come from outside districts, according to police sources. Those, who failed to visit the houses of their political masters (Ministers of Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts), spoke to them on phone. They also spoke to the family members and close relatives of the Ministers to utilise the services for "choice" postings, sources said. Sources said one of the SPs, who was at present posted in Jammu, approached a Minister with the request to post him as SSP of any district in Jammu region, while one SSP pushed his case for posting him as SSP of Kathua district. "While the SP has served as DSP in Jammu, the SSP has headed Kathua earlier also. The latter spent over two hours in the Minister's house and exchanged pleasantries with him just to ensure that he is posted as SSP, Kathua," sources informed. Some KAS officers also called on the Ministers and requested them to give them some "important" assignments. |
