NPP takes out massive protest rally at Udhampur | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Nov 18: Carrying forward the JKNPP's protest over the persistent discrimination doled out to the people of Jammu Pradesh by the State Government, hundreds of Panthers Party activists led by Balwant Singh Mankotia, State President JKNPP along with several other leaders took out an emphatic protest rally at District headquarters Udhampur. The rally started from Slathia Chowk and after passing through the various lanes and markets it finally culminated and gheraoed the office of the Assistance Director, CAPD Udhampur. Addressing the mammoth gathering Balwant Singh Mankotia said that state government has been exposed for its administrative incompetence which has added to the woes of the general masses. He disclosed that Jammu division has 969837 ration card holders where as Kashmir valley has 832163 ration card holders and correspondingly 27011 metric ton of ration per month is supplied and distributed in Jammu Division as compare to 36056 metric ton in Kashmir Valley. Moreover, for the last four months there has been acute shortage of ration supply in Jammu Division which has added to the plight and miseries of the people. Mankotia said that Udhampur District is also facing acute ration crisis. He added that people have been deprived of their quota of ration for the last two months besides the people did not get their quota of sugar for the last four months by the CAPD department which has made the life of the people miserable. He exhorted the district administration to release and distribute the two months pending ration among the people without any delay and keep the promise of providing 35 kg of ration per family as mentioned on the ration cards or else face dire consequences. |
