Jammu, Nov 28: Police arrested an army Sepoy for allegedly cheating girls with multiple marriages. He deserted all of them after they gave births to babies.
Police sources identified him as Sepoy Raj Kumar alias Raja (Belt No 03992758F), son of Rama of Nehalpur, Simbal Tinday Kalan, near Miran Sahib here.
His first alleged victim was a girl from Miran Sahib. After she gave birth to a child, he left her without giving her his whereabouts. Later, he allegedly trapped another girl of Domail, Jhajjar Kotli, and solemnized marriage with her. He deserted her too after she gave birth to a baby.
During his search, the two women came to know that he had married both of them. They then registered a case against him at Miran Sahib police station in April 2015. After hectic efforts, police came to know that the accused, an army sepoy, was presently posted at DSC, Leh, and arrested him yesterday from Jammu.
During investigation, it was found that he had solemnized third marriage with a girl of Bishnah and she also had given birth to a child 21 days back.
She and her family members were unaware of his multiple marriages, sources said.
His marriages with some more girls were not ruled out. Police are investigating the matter. A case FIR No 46 under sections 420, 494 and 498-A of RPC has been registered against him. The arrest was made by Miran Sahib police station SHO Hilal Azhar under supervision of SDPO R.S Pura, Harjeet Singh and SP (Hqrs) Randheer Singh. |
