Srinagar, Nov 28: Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and MP, Muzaffar Hussain Baig Saturday said that Jawaharlal Nehru was more responsible for partition of India than Mohammad Ali Jinnah. "An average Hindu has this feeling that when Muslims realised that they will be in a minority in India, they wanted a separate country. But it is a different thing that Nehru was more responsible for partition of the India than Jinnah. It is established by history. Even (L K) Advani says so, Jaswant Singh says so," Baig said during his lecture at Central University of Kashmir here. Baig delivered a lecture today to students and faculty of Central University of Kashmir during a seminar on "The Preamble of the Constitution". He explained to the audience whether the socialism, secularism and democracy truly flourished in India and whether the Constitution is being practiced by politicians and people in its letter and spirit. The event was organised by the Department of Law, Central University of Kashmir (CUK), to celebrate the Constitution Day, in commemoration of the 125th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Dr. B R Ambedkar. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, advocate Zaffar Ahmad Shah, Head Department of Law, Dr. Sheikh Showkat Hussain, Registrar, Prof. Muhammad Afzal Zargar, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Gilkar, Deans of various Schools, Heads and Coordinators of different department, faculty members and students were also present on the occasion. |
