| Three day workshop organized by DPSS concludes | | |  Jammu, Nov 29 : Three day workshop organized by Delhi Public School Society New Delhi at Delhi Public School Jammu concluded today
DPS Society organizes such workshops for the teachers from time to time to hone their teaching skills and make teaching and learning an enriching experience. The purpose of the three day workshop was to make learning English for the middle classes more productive and make teaching and learning a fruitful experience for the teachers and the students.
Various sessions in the workshop enriched the teachers about enhancing their language skills by using different methods. Developing reading and writing skills along with the use of phonetics was emphasized. Apart from preparing effective question papers, use of theatre as an effective learning tool and using ICT and Multiple Intelligence theory was discussed in detail.Assessment of learning and speaking skill, which is now made mandatory by CBSE, was also explained in detail by the Resource persons.
Addressing the delegates and others Ms. Vinita Kher Director, CEM-DPSS stated that teachers must use textbooks as a tool only. She explained the vision and mission of the DPS Society and stated that the teachers must be aware of it and try to imbibe it in their teaching. She also stated that she expects the DPS teachers to understand and follow the National Framework for English -2005
At the conclusion of the workshop, the dance troupe of DPS Jammu gave a mesmerizing performance on the theme of joy of school life which was applauded and enjoyed by the audience. |
