JYF seeks Judicial Commission to probe wrong-doing in JU | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 29 : The Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) has urged the state government to set up a one-man Judicial Commission to probe the irregularities being committed in Jammu University by the present dispensation which is also shooting misleading replies to several of the queries raised by Raj Bhawan (Office of Chancellor). Addressing a press conference here today, JYF President Mohammad Akram Ahmed said that Raj Bhawan has put several questions to the Vice Chancellor after taking cognizance of the media reports and public representations on the matters pertaining to wrong-doings in the University but University manipulated and shot vague replies which itself is an offence. He added that the office of Chancellor was really worried about the issue of mal-administration in Jammu University during the past one year i.e. the tenure of Prof R D Sharma. He alleged that VC was misleading the Office of Chancellor through vague and irrelevant replies. "Several of the questions were raised by the Governor as he is worried about the deteriorating condition of academics and research but it is a height of non-seriousness on the side of the Vice Chancellor who is not responding properly which shows that all is not well in University," he further alleged. He also said that many corrupt practices were going on in the University which has led to deterioration of the institution hence there's an urgent need to set up a Judicial Commission to unearth the scams in Jammu University. "There is an immediate need to probe the wrong-doings committed in the Varsity as the Vice Chancellor was deliberately trying to hide his wrong-doings. Only a Judicial Commission can probe the matter and fix the responsibility," he urged the state government. |
