GMC&SH holds cardiac awareness camp 11/29/2015 10:57:40 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Nov. 29: In one of the most unique experiments today, cardiology department of Government Medical College and super-speciality Hospital (GMC&SH) today accepted the invitation of a Hindu saint Shri Shri 1008 Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati Ji and held a cardiac awareness camp in Patri area of R.S.Pura Tehsil of Jammu district. The camp was inaugurated by noted Hindu saint Shri Shri 1008 Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati Ji and HOD Nephrology Dr. S.K.Bali. The camp was more about screening heart patients, advising them required medicines, calling them up for routine check-up in the hospital and enrolling those requiring special cardiac care. Led by HOD Cardiology Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma, the team of doctors and paramedics scanned the patients one by one, giving every patient more than required care and help. More than 300 patients were screened in the camp. Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma interacted with patients and advised those detected with High Blood Pressure (BP) to take special care of themselves, especially during the winter season as heart patients are more vulnerable for trouble in winter and avoid exposure early morning cold. Those who are hypertensive should take proper medicine before moving out of home or going out in cold added Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma further saying that people should always keep an eye on their blood pressure in winters and should not look for symptoms.
