SEOF hails Education Minister's initiatives to improve functioning of Edu deptt | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Nov 29: Hailing the steps taken by Education Minister to set the things right in the Education Department, the School Education Officers Forum (SEOF) and Education Employees Coordination Committee (EECC) said that honest efforts are being made to bring the changes in the system since March 2015. Provincial President Incharge School Education Officers Forum and Education Employees Coordination Committee Amar Nath Thakur said that corruption in transfers and postings from teachers to Chief Education Officer Level has stopped. Transfer industry which flourished and defamed the education department has come to an end, rotational exam duties in board exams are being ensured and the lists of duties are approved by Directors. Elaborating the steps taken so far, Thakur said that monitoring system at cluster level is being strengthened and now attendance of students and teachers is ensured, evening classes for weak and poor performer students have started, school enrolment is checked and schools are clubbed where there is less enrollment of students besides other initiatives. He demanded a dress code for all categories of teachers and other officials in Education department, introducing moral education at levels, starting nursery classes and stopping mass promotion policy from 1st to 9th class , filling all vacant posts of lecturers/ teachers in all under staff schools Thakur said that recently he met Education Minister in the civil secretariat and requested to attend teachers conference and regularize all incharge lecturers, officers and ReT's of the department. |
