Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Nov 29: In a tragic fire incident in Palmar area of Kishtwar District, two residential house belonging to Ghulam Hassan Kashmiri and Khushi Mohammad Kashmiri both sons of Rehman Kashmiri resident of Suzna Palmar some 45 KM from Kishtwar town reduced to ashes within hours after fire engulfed both the houses at around 12.30 midnight. As per the details available with "Early Times", the fire started from a heap of dry thatch which soon engulfed both the houses. The villagers and people from Kishtwar immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue and relief operation, but due to heavy fire both the houses could not be saved. Senior officials of District administration, police, social activists and politicians also rushed to the spot and expressed grief over the incident. District administration provided immediate financial assistance of Rs. 10000 each to the affected families out of Red Cross funds, besides also provided some essential commodities, utensils, tents, Solar Lights, mattress among the affected families. Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Nabi Balwan while expressing his sorrow over the tragic fire incident directed the revenue officials to prepare the compensation cases in favour of both the house owners, beside also directed the forest department to accord timber sanction in favour of the victims so that they could start reconstruction of their houses before the onset of snowfall season. |
