ADC sanctions Rs 1.0 Lakh ex-gratia to Pak shelling victim 12/22/2015 9:55:26 PM MS Nazki Early Times Report Balakote (Poonch), Dec 22: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADC) Poonch, Shafeeq Ahmed today directed Tehsildar Mendhar and incharge Tehsildar Balakote to grant Rs One lakh as ex gratia in favour of Imtiaz Khan the father of Shahnawaz Khan who succumbed to his injuries sustained during heavy shelling from Pakistan on August 15 in Govt Medical College (GMC) Jammu on Monday. Here it needs to mention that Shahnawaz student of class VII on Monday succumbed to injuries which he had received during shelling from Pakistan in Balakote sector on August 15. Five person including Sarpanch and a teacher were killed in this heavy shelling while eleven others were injured while a minor succumbed to his injuries on the next day taking toll to six. Meanwhile attending the funeral ceremony of Shahnawaz Khan a large number of locals bade a tearful farewell to minor. Meanwhile following directions from ADC Poonch, the Tehsildar Mendhar Salam Din and Incharge Tehsildar Balakote Shahzad Khan visited the aggrieved family and handed over an amount of Rs One Lakh as ex-gratia and Rs ten thousand as relief from Indian Red Cross Poonch to the father of deceased. They also expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family. Father of deceased Imtiaz Ahmed expressed his gratitude towards administration and bemoaned "I thank administration for Rs One lakh ex-gratia today but now it is not of any use.
