JAMMU, Dec 22: The Station House Officers (SHOs) of a few police stations, that fall in the Assembly constituency of a BJP Minister, arranged 'dal-chawal' and other food items for a party that was given by him to the people in the recent past.
Sources in State BJP said the Minister called up the SHOs and asked them to arrange 'dal-chawal' and other food items for the people of a particular area of his constituency after his meeting with them.
The SHOs, who are serving in the Minister's constituency with his blessings, in turn used their influence and asked some shopkeepers to supply ration to the venue of the Minister's public meeting.
After the public meeting, the people relished the 'dal-chawal', which neither the Minister nor the SHOs, but the poor shopkeepers had arranged for them.
In the erstwhile NC-Congress Government too, some Ministers used to assign these duties to district SPs. |
