Developed nations need to join hands for curbing IS activities
12/22/2015 10:00:49 PM
After trying to gain foothold in Pakistan and occupied Kashmir, ISIS is determined to extend its network to India, especially to Jammu and Kashmir. Even the senior Army functionaries claim that the terror outfit Islamic State (IS) is trying to gain a foothold in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, Whatever inputs the Army in Jammu and Kashmir have, indicate that IS has not taken in a major way, but they are definitely trying to gain foothold in the area Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Pakistan. Following these reports the Union Home Ministry is said to have asked state and central intelligence agencies to pool their sources in order to verify how many Kashmir youth have crossed into Pakistan and Occupied Kashmir for joining IS and this verification has to be carried out secretly because parents of those missing from their homes do not file missing reports with the police lest they would be inconvenienced during interrogation. The scene is different in other parts of India. In Mumbai three boys, two of them educated, are said to have joined IS after the security and intelligence agencies probed into their missing reports. Parents of these boys had filed missing reports with the police which led to thorough inquiry. It is yet to be ascertained whether these boys have gone to some foreign country to be part of the IS Jehad or were being trained in setting up IS network in Mumbai and other parts of India. However, the situation in the Kashmir valley is quite different and here parents normally do not filed missing reports when they know that their boys had gone cross to Pakistan or occupied Kashmir for being part of the IS squad. Parents in Kashmir invariably filed missing reports whenever their boys are taken away by the Army and other security agencies for interrogation or whenever their boys get killed in encounters. Reports indicate that after Pakistan has banned nearly 60 militant outfits, including Lashkar-i-Toiba and Jash-e-Mohammad, activists of these banned outfits could join the IS whether in Pakistan, occupied Kashmir or in Jammu and Kashmir in order to enhance the level mof violence in Jammu and Kashmir. These reports say that in case the IS was able to establish its foothold in Pakistan and occupied Kashmir it could enroll activists from the banned LeT and JeM and other outfits. This could escale the disturbed security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir once these IS activists were assisted in getting pushed into the Indian state. In fact IS has become a major menace for world peace and what is peculiar about the IS activists is that they operate and indulge in acts of violence in Islamic countries. It is in this connection that muslim religious scholars and other politician believe that IS is a big danger to Islam and to the muslim countries. Once the IS established it foothold in several countries, including Syria,Iran,Iraq,Turkey. Egypt and other muslim nations the terror outfit can easily launch armed attacks on developed nations, including US, the UK, Germany, Australia, France besides China and India. In that case India may face the major brunt of the IS threat because the IS activists, who have carved out hideouts in Pakistan and occupied Kashmir, could march into Kashmir from across the LOC and the IB. In the light of this threat potential the Union Home and Defence Ministries have asked the paramilitary forces and the Army to get ready for meeting any challenge from the IS in Jammu and Kashmir. Once the IS established its foothold in Pakistan and occupied Kashmir security situation in other states, including Kerala, Chennai, UP, Bihar could witness alarming dimensions. Fortunately Russia has joined hands with the US and other western countries in launching counter operations against the ISIS operating in Syria, Turkey and other Islamic countries. In fact there is need for the United Nations to take cognizance of this lurking danger and adopt a resolution against the growing activities of ISIS. Once it is done India is ready to be part of the UN peace keeping force for fighting ISIS in various countries. There is need for nipping the evil in the bud and if developed nations and those facing the dangers from ISIS do not join hands world peace will be in shamble.
