Army Public School Damana celebrates Annual Day

Jammu, Dec 22 : Army Public School Damana celebrated Annual Day on the theme 'UTKARSH' : Dawn of New Era, which is the outcome of our perseverance, dedication and togetherness. It was organized at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium with gaiety and fervor. On this occasion, Brig BS Bisht, SM, Chairman of the School was the Chief Guest and Poonam Bisht, Chairperson FWO was the Guest of Honour. e function, which was declared open by the chief guest, guest of honour and Principal with lighting of the traditional lamp, was attended by a large number of VIPs, Army and civil officers, Principals of different schools, parents, students and other guests. It was followed by the presentation of the school annual report by Dr Renu Gupta, Principal of the School by highlighting the academic achievements and all round development of the school through quality education, use of technological innovations, counseling sessions and development of communicative skills. The Principal also focused on the need for developing positive sense of professionalism amongst teachers and further strengthening teacher-student relationship. The school students attired in colourful costumes presented a wonderful cultural programme full of various enticements which mesmerized the audience. Among many items displayed by the students, the main attractions were the Dawn of New Era, the Bog in Progress, Soaring New Horizons and the Millennials. The Chief Guest gave away the prizes to the meritorious students and achievers. The prizes were given to the academic toppers of Class XII and Class X, best student of the year, best achievers in inter school competitions, national level competitions and in sports category. Eklavya Award was also given for the outstanding and voluntary contribution to the school. Utkarsh Award was also given to the special student of the school. Besides, rolling trophies were given to different houses which included academics, co-curricular activities, sports and overall winner house.
