GCW Udhampur organises a symposium 12/23/2015 12:28:20 AM Early Times Report Udhampur, Dec 22 : The department of mathematics GCW Udhampur organised a symposium on "Mathematics and Its Applications" on the eve of National Mathematics Day. On this occasion principal of the college Prof. K.S. Koushal was the chief guest. The programme was started with the welcome address by Dr. Ashok Kumar HOD mathematics of the college. In the symposium a total number of five students namely Vagisha, Shikha Jamwal, Lokanhsi Sharma, Rupali Sharma and Izina Saleem have expressed their views on the topic through power point presentations. The participant enlightened the audience about the contributions of the great Indians Mathematicians, particularly the contribution of Srinivasa Ramanujan the genius Indian modern mathematician. In his keynote address the chief guest appreciated the efforts of the Department to organise such type of awareness programmes. He emphasised the importance of Vedic mathematics for competitive examinations and he told that no subject is complete without Mathematics.
