Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 1: Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice in its statement issued here has stated that the Kahara-Jai road dispute which was raised in 2009 & which is concerned with the fate of Forests, State Exchequers and majority of the villages of un-influential people is yet to be settled despite laps more than 6 years now.
An inquiry committee headed by Divisional Commissioner Jammu was constituted by Chief Secretary J&K government in 2012 but the members of the committee never visited the site themselves personally so for and they submitted their report to higher authorities, prepared by the same lower level officers of R&B, PMGSY & Forest departments who had originally committed the irregularities & against whom the public had complained.
Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice has appealed the Governor, Chief Minister & Minister for Forest, Ecology & Environment to kindly get the irregularities in respect of Kahara-Jai road project thoroughly probed & to redress the genuine grievances of the aggrieved people of the area.
