Azad grieved over 'Ramban fire tragedy'
1/1/2016 10:54:43 PM
Jammu, Jan 1: Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and Former Chief Minister of J&K, Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed profound sorrow and grief on the tragic and awful death of 10 construction workers at Chanderkote in Ramban District of Jammu & Kashmir. Atleast 10 construction workers working with a private company on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway were charred to death when their temporary residential quarters were gutted to ashes due to fire in the early hours yesterday. Conveying his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, Azad said "My heart goes out to those who have lost their nears and dears in the bone-chilling fire incident and may Almighty grant them enough courage to bear the tragic and irreparable loss". Azad demanded that adequate compensation must be paid to the relatives of the deceased and that Government should pay proper attention towards the working condition of the workers engaged in the infrastructure projects taken up by the Government.

He also prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls.
