| Corruption galore in Mendhar town, revenue officials loot gullible people | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, Feb, 5: The gullible people of Mendhar town of Poonch distt. is being allegedly looted by the revenue officials for their land record works thus paving way for the open corruption Sources said that patwari of Mendhar tehsil Abdul Aziz has been placed second time in Mendhar despite he had been indulged in corrupt practices earlier and was suspended by then assistant Commissioner Revenue Poonch, Shafiq Ahmed on the directions of DC Poonch and was simultaneously attached with DC office Poonch.
The sources said that this patwari has been alleged indulged in tampering of many land records for monetary benefits and on the complaints of aggrieved people he had been placed under suspension but later on he managed to grease the palms of some officers who helped to get him posted again as patwari Mendhar.
There has been a general feeling of locals that they were being looted on the one pretext or the other who come to obtain naqals of their land documents including registration of land etc. they alleged that these officials have engaged their agents with in the office who bargain for the gullible people thus being looted of their hard earned money, the people alleged.
People in an appeal to Governor of the state have urged that to curb the menace of corruption as the state is presently politicians free and no political interference can help to tighten the noose of guilty. |
