Circulation of derogatory message against MLC : PDP lodges complaint with ADC | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Early Times Report
Kishtwar , Feb 5 : Taking a serious note of the circulation of 'derogatory' message against a PDP MLC allegedly by some revenue employees here, PDP's district unit has formally submitted a complaint to additional deputy commissioner, Kishtwar, who has been asked by the deputy commissioner to probe into the incident. As per the three-page complaint, the derogatory message against the PDP MLC was uploaded on WhatsApp on January 26, 2016 by one of the employees. The WhatsApp group on which the message was posted is allegedly created by a senior revenue officer in the district. The complaint, filed by PDP's district general secretary Ishtyaq Ahmad Waza, termed the message as an attempt to tarnish the image of the party as well as its MLC . Instead of taking action against the official, the senior officer called him to his residence and forced him to delete the message from his cellphone, the complaint alleged, saying, "The conduct of the senior revenue officer creates suspicion about his role in the circulation of the message." It demanded that cyber cell of J&K police be directed to get the author of the message identified. The party has urged the inquiry officer to recommend stern disciplinary action against the officials and officers involved in the circulation of the message. Meanwhile, police have questioned two persons for running of WhatsApp groups in the names of an English news channel and a local 'journalist' and verified their credentials by asking them to produce relevant documents that had authenticated them to run the WhatsAppgroups. Both were alleged to have failed to prove their association with media houses. It is pertinent to mention here that the derogatory message against the MLC was also circulated on the journalist's news group. |
