NPSU stages protest against shortage of staff in schools | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 20 : National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) today lambasted the Education Department for jeopardizing the careers of students studying in various rural and far-flung areas by its failure to provide adequate staff, infrastructure and laboratory and library facilities. According to press release, Thakur Virender Singh said the Educational Department had virtually made several schools of remote areas defunct by transferring the teachers of the said schools to cities and towns for personal and vested interests. "Large scale transfers of teachers have been effected by the education department in the mid session and during the currency of 'ban' imposed on transfers", he said adding that mid-session transfers issued in violation of its own policy had caused irreparable loss to the academics and careers of students studying in such schools. Thakur Virender Singh further announced to gherao the office of Director School Education in case the transfer orders issued during the 'ban' period were not rolled back. He further expressed concern over posting of lecturer having specialization in a particular stream against the posts of different subjects. There are many Higher Secondary Schools in Jammu province which shortage of specified lecturer. Lecturers of specialized subject are forced to teach other subject in which they have no knowledge about the subject. Singh appealed Governor NN Vohra to intervene into the matter and principals of these schools must be instructed to asked the lecturer to teach the subject on which they are specialized. |
