Omar gets stinging replies for his 'pro-Kashmir concerns' | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 20: Former Chief Minister and National Conference working president Omar Abdullah got critical views when his word of words on the twitter with the BJP leader started on the virtual world. NC leader hit out at Ashok Pandit who had demanded interrogation of JNU students union vice-president Shehla Rashid Shora, who incidentally is from Kashmir. "Now being a Kashmiri Muslim is crime enough to warrant interrogation. BTW (by the way) it's Shehla not Sheila but what the hell!" Omar texted on Twitter. Omar had in the past also tried to come up for the 'cause' of the Kashmiri people-read Muslims. However, the general response on the virtual world was not as positive as he had expected when this war-of-word was made into a story and posted on a local daily of the Kashmir on its net-edition. "Right from ur grandfather to u & NC is responsible for this. Don't blame India' posted one Bashir Saraf on the pafe of the daly. Another one Owais Qadir posted: "U r responsible for all this becoz u signed the death warrant of afzal guru (RIP)." And the diatribe continued on the virtual world with one Mehraj Ud-din posting: "yes Mr Omar these are the same tactics and policies which your grand papa your papa and you adopted against the.......fighters of the State." It was not the response Omar Abdullah had expected as he was hoping to strike a chord with the Kashmiri people for raising concern about them. But political observers believe that the killing of more than 100 youth in the police firing in 2010 when he was the Chief Minister, had made such imprint on the minds of the people of the Kashmir even if he tears his heart out to showcase his sincerity people still will not believe him. "He has lost the credibility and it is reflected when his concern, which he may think are genuine, are even not taken seriously by the people," said a senior NC leader, who is not going on well with the Omar Abdullah. |
