SAMBA, Feb 20: In order to promote AYUSH systems of health care in the state, a series of awareness programmes are being organized as per the guidelines of Director General of Indian Systems of Medicine, Dr Abdul Kabir Dar.
In order to take AYUSH systems of health care to the grass root level and at every village and city of the state under National AYUSH Mission, it is imperative to re-orient the Medical Officers to take the message of "Karo-Yog, Raho Nirog" to the masses.
In this concern, Nodal Officer, ISM Samba, Dr Rohit Gupta conducted an awareness program on "Yoga- for health promotion" for the medical officers of Department of Indian Systems of Medicines of District Samba, where in Dr Anil Sharma, expert in Yoga imparted spot training of yoga asans to the medical officers. A live demonstration of various yoga asans in various diseases like Backache, Diabetes mellitus, Hypertension was given to the medical officers. Nodal Officer ISM Samba, Dr Gupta highlighted that Yoga is a powerful non-drug cure for many diseases and also promotes health and wellness and also instructed Medical Officers to include Yoga in their prescriptions. |
