RAJOURI, Feb 20: Regional Sericulture Research Station Central Board, Jammu in collaboration with Sericulture Development Department J&K organized a Resham Krishi Mela at Sunderbani, Rajouri today. MLA, Nowshera, Ravinder Raina was the chief guest on the occasion while SDM, Sunderbani, Kartar Singh was the guest of honor. Speaking on the occasion, Raina appealed the cocoon growers to strictly follow the prescribed technical guidelines of the central silk board and sericulture development Deptt for improving cocoon productivity thereby increasing the economic returns. About 1000 silkworm rearers of the district participated in the Mela. An exhibition stall depicting the sericulture activities of pre/post cocoon was also displayed on the occasion and the visiting dignitaries and the participating farmers showed keen interest in the exhibition. The technical experts namely Dr.O.P Gadgala, Dr. Rajat Mohan, Surinder Bhat and R.C Dass from the central silk board delivered lectures on the latest technologies of sericulture besides threw light on benefits available under various CSS. Dr. Malik Farooq, Director SDD, Dr. SP Sharma, Dir.CSB, Dr. Anil Dhar, Incharge RSRS Jammu and M.L Chadgal Addl. SDD Jammu also spoke on the occasion. |
