| People rue non availability of water | | | MS Nazki

Mendhar, Feb 20: people of ward No. 1 and ward no.2 of this tehsil have rued the official apathy as they have been facing the shortage of water for the last 20 days, sources said here today.
People said the main motor of the pump has gone out of order but authorities have failed to get it repaired. We have been suffering at the hands of PHE department but they turn a deaf ear despite our repeated pleas, said a local in anonymity.
The locals today staged a protest demonstration and raised slogans against XEn PHE Poonch and AE PHE Mendhar. They urged the authorities to get the water supply to the affected areas restored at an earliest.
A deputation of protestor called on Sub Divisional Magistrate Thakur Sher Singh and Submitted a memorandum to him. They urged the SDM that their water supply has been affected since last 20 days.
The locals were suffering for want of drinking water. They urged for immediate restoration of water supply to the both wards and repairing of the burnt motor of the pump. |
