Insane persons lot faces Govt apathy in Poonch 2/21/2016 12:11:35 AM MS NAZKI Early Times Report Poonch, Feb 20: we may be able to talk about the day-to-day development taking places around us in various fields people of district Poonch who have been spending their time on roadsides in pathetic circumstances while State Health Department has failed to take measures to rehabilitate this neglected lot on humanitarian grounds, sources, said. Eye witnesses said a few days ago one mentally challenged person namely Abdul Khaliq of Mankote had fallen in a rivulet and nobody was there to pull him out of water. He said the victim remained whole night in the water and it was only a few people who saw him in the morning and got him out of water. Being immersed whole night in the water Khaliq suffered paralysis now he is admitted in Sub Divisional Hospital Mendhar for treatment. There is good number of mentally challenged persons in district Poonch where as there were nearly twenty male/female insane persons in Tehsil Mendhar only, sources said, adding Govt has failed till now to construct a Mental Hospital in this district so that these people could get proper care and treatment. People from several areas of the district have appealed to Health authorities in general and Governor of the state NN Vohra in particular to look personally into the pathetic condition of insane persons of this district and urged to take measure to rehabilitate them on humanitarian grounds as this lot has been the victim of official apathy since years together, they said.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
