NMC urges CM to release pending installments of DA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 9 : President National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to release two pending installments of 12 per cent DA due from July last and January this year in favor of its employees and pensioners in cash in view of sharp increase of the prices of essential commodities and inflation. Interacting with media persons here, Shastri in support of his demand said that the two installments of the DA have already been released by the Central Govt. as well as various state Governments in favour of their employees and pensioners since long adding that in view of increasing prices and inflation, the release of pending installments of DA have become more necessary. He said since there are already budgetary provisions, there should be no hitch for the State Government in releasing these installments. Delay in such matter is also not in the interest of state exchequer, he added. Shastri called for early release of these installments as salaried class have high hopes from the coalition Government headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. Shastri hoped that the new coalition Govt. would take decision on the regularization of sixty one thousand daily rated workers who have been engaged prior to March 1994 but has not been regularize so far. Release of all pending dues of all daily rated workers working in irrigation and Flood Control Deptt. PWD, PHE, etc., enhancing the wages of Daily rated workers to rupees 10,000/- per month, increasing medical allowance to rupees 1000 per month removing of all pay anomalies of clerical cadre under SRO 93 and includes Jammu city in the list of hundred smart cities were other demands highlighted by him on the occasion. |
