Sources told Early Times that these cars were hired from an individual instead of firm overlooking the rules. "Managing Director, Dr Yash Pal Sharma since the day took charge, is enjoying autonomy and draining public money", sources said, adding that presently there are four gazzeted officers in the Corporation.
"Managing Director, General Manager and two Medical Officers, but the MD had hired six cars including two Mahindra Scorpio, one Mahindra Bolero and three Swift Dzire cars have been hired", they added that during the tenure of Sheetal Nanda as Managing Director, there were two vehicles that too provided by State Motor Garage.
"Over Rs 45,000 are being paid by the Corporation for each car, and around Rs 3 lakh are being paid for entire fleet, the Corporation has hired", sources said and added that in Corporation even clerks are enjoying luxurious cars. They further said that following the footsteps of former Deputy Chairman of erstwhile Planning Commission of India, Montek Singh Ahluwalia who spent Rs 14 lakh for the maintenance of his washroom, the MD JKMSCL has spent over Rs 40 lakh for renovation of his office.
They said that despite being hired, the cars have been pretended as Government vehicles. Sources further said that since the Corporation came in existence supply of medicines in Government hospital come to halt. "The space where office of the MD was created, provided by GMC Administration for drug ware house where huge amount was spent unnecessarily", they alleged. In all the wrong doings top functionaries of Health and Medical Education department have hands-in-glove.
The MD JKMSCL Dr Yash Pal Sharma could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
