804th Urs of Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz celebrated in Kishtwar

kishtwar, Apr 14: Like many parts of the country, the 804th Urs of Hazrat Khujwa Mohudin Chisti (RA) of Ajmer Sharif commonly known as Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz was today celebrated at Kishtwar with great enthusiasm and religious fervor.
Large number of devotees participated in special prayers organised by Shah family of Bunastan Kishtwar, beside the religious scholars also throws light on the life of Khawja Mohi-ud-Din Chisti (RA) who during his life time preached and enlightened the people with knowledge of peace, prosperity and brotherhood.
While talking to "Early Times" Haji Fareed Ahmed Shah said that his family including his father and uncle are the great followers of the Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz and use to visit Ajmer Sharif every year to participate in the annual Urs.
He recalled that his family decided to hold the Urs at Kishtwar every year in the year 1970 and since then they have been celebrating the annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Mohammad Fareed Ud Din Baghdadi (RTA) and Hazrat Shah Mohammad Asrar Ud Din Baghdadi (RTA). He said that people irrespective to caste, creed and from various walks of life participate in the Urs organized in Kishtwar.
70 year old Ghulam Hussain Qazi who every year took part in the annual urs of Khujwa Gareeb Nawaz said that the history is the testimony to the preaching of Khwaja Ji - the holy personality. He recalled that the religious preachers had migrated from Saudi Arbia to India with only aim to teach and impart the religious education to the poor and downtrodden and to enlighten them with knowledge to understand the meaning life given to him by God and its significance by observing peace and harmony.
