Mendhar, Apr 14: Notwithstanding its tall claims, R&B department has failed to keep the town clean even during the auspicious Navratras with Bus Stand becoming a garbage dumping site.
The huge garbage and filth at Bus Stand and in its vicinity has made lives of people, especially those living near it, hell. R&B department, which has to maintain cleanliness of the town, is in deep slumber.
Locals alleged that besides the heaps of garbage, dead animals were also not being removed to peripheral areas. The foul smell emanating from there had made lives of the people hell, they said, expressing apprehensions about the spread of an epidemic.
However, after locals brought the matter to the notice of tehsildar, Mendhar, Salamdin, he paid a visit to the area and directed BDO to take measures to remove the garbage and dead animals from the area with a immediate effect and till then, all shops should be kept closed in the market as people feel it difficult to make any purchases from the market under these circumstances. |
