Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 14: Sikhs for Humanity, an NGO in collaboration with Blood Bank GMC and SMGS Hospital organized a blood donation camp for thalassemia patients, at Gurdwara Chhatti Paatshahi Talab Tillo. Speaking on the occasion, coordinator 'Sikhs for Humanity', Surinder Singh Bunty Advocate said that Thalassemia is the most common, inherited single gene disorder in the world. "Giving Blood is simple and easy, and it can save someone's life. There is no substitute for human blood. Blood cannot be manufactured. Blood can only come from a volunteer donor," he said. Nearly 52 units of blood were donated by the volunteers of the organisation and sangat present at Gurudwara Sahib during the camp. Refreshment and appreciation certificates were given to volunteer donors. Meanwhile, 'Sikhs for Humanity' appealed to volunteers to register their names for forthcoming blood donation camps. |
