udhampur, Apr 14: The second day of ongoing three day "Duggar Sanskriti Mahotsav" being organized by Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan an NGO in close coordination with the Distt Administration ,Udhampur, Ministry of Culture (Govt of India) and Academy of Art Culture and Languages at the bank holy Devika River was dedicated to clean historical river as a part of Swatch Bharat Abhiyan. During the occasion besides cultural programmes the cleanliness drive too was undertaken to clean the area. Over 60 renowned local artists through street plays, nukkad, traditional folk song and dances participated in the cultural programme. Chief Medical Officer Udhmapur Dr Chander Parkash was the chief guest on this occasion whereas other prominent namely Dr Jagdish Mehra, PO, DRDA, Romesh Singh, Chairman, Baisakhi Mela Committee Udh, Puran Chand Mela Magistrate, V K Magotra, MD BLSKS were also present on this occasion. In his address chief guest Dr Chander Parkash lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such an event historical and highlighted the importance of Duggar culture in promoting traditional folk & culture including folk music and folk dances . Earlier welcoming the gathering and special invitees, V K Magotra, Managing Director,BLSKS, explained objectives of the programme which have been assigned to the organization by the Ministry of Culture under the culture function grant "Introduce folk form of Duggar Pradesh Cultural troupes namely Hem Raj and Party Anjana Pudwal and Party , M C Kotwal and Party, Nagni Cultural troupe, Deepak Kumar & Party, Unison Culture Troupe presented cultural items whixch left the gathering mesmerized. Besides locals, school children also participated in this programne. |
