Srinagar, May 10: Asking for focused action plan over the next months to ensure the timely completion of the public grievances, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufit has directed all the top officials of the government to redress the grievances of people promptly and understand their problems and local issues.
According to the official sources, the Chief Minister on Tuesday gave a time limit to all the government departments to resolve public grievances, saying redressing such complaints is the biggest aspect of good governance. "Government officials who solve problems faced by the people represent the best aspect of the good governance. The common people should not suffer at all," one of the top officials of the government while quoting CM said.
He said that the CM Mehbooba also directed all the DCs and SPs to resolve the issues of the general people daily in their districts and stay at their offices. "In case you are unable to meet people because of any pressing engagement, you should make an alternative arrangement to hear them," the CM said.
Sources said that the Chief Minister while taking a serious view of complaints of non-availability of officers and officials in the offices, directed all the concerned HOD's to ensure the presence of employees in the offices.
The official sources said that the CM has asked a deadline for government departments to resolve public grievances. "CM has called for a focused action plan over the next months to ensure that only exceptional cases take time to address,"
Meanwhile sources said that following the CM's directive to improve the resolution of public grievances, the chief secretary B. R Sharma has asked top officials having substantial public interface to personally resolve grievances every week.
Sources said that the Chief Minister has also said that a comprehensive development package had already been formulated for the holistic development of the state and instructions have been passed to the departments concerned to timely complete the projects so that the people get the requisite benefits.
Sources said that CM also said that the government was committed to equitable development of all three regions of the state so that it comes up as one of the model states in the country.
