Udhampur, May 10: after the lapse of almost two years since the entire Saddal village got vanished under landslides triggered during September Floods on 6/7 2014, but there is hardly much change in the ordeals of survivors of the tragedy as the people are still looking to the government for help for their permanent rehabilitation. If recalled here that due to the devastating floods and landslides of 6/7 September 2014, in Panchari block totally wiped up village Saddal with 40 people dead. During the relief and rehabilitation process, the Government Primary School Sainsar village Damnote, Zone Panchari of district Udhampur got totally damaged following which school administration in collaboration with the parents of the students had to shift the school the nearby private house where it is still functioning for last two years but the academics of students is affected badly. Besides various problems the locals villagers of Kalsote, Basnote, and Chullna have been facing various problems and are demanding repair of four main roads connecting to these villages. Locals while talking to Early Times narrated their ordeal said many people including men, women, and children have received head injuries and fractures following accident slips at hilly path ways in this rugged terrain. "These damaged pathways including Kalsote to Dithli lower Basnote, Chanku Lehs Chullna to Sadraali, Dubbi Gali to Nali Nikka and Baltan Parand to Patti Parand via Shri Mata Chaiman Devi Gali are in bad shape and all requests regarding repair of pathways still have been brushed aside by the concerned authorities for the last two years. |
