| Domestic LPG illegally used for commercial purpose, CAPD Deptt unaware | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, May 10: The government machinery still has not taken the pain to check the misuse of domestic LPG cylinders as the restaurants and institutional kitchens are using LPG gas cylinder illegally for their commercial purposes. As per sources the domestic LPG cylinders are being openly used for commercial purposes in Tea stalls, Confectionery and Dhabas but Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Department yet has failed to plug the loopholes and the misuse of domestic LPG cylinders continued blatantly.
Suresh Kumar, a local from Kathua city alleged the CA&PD deptt which is accountable for smooth supply of LPG cylinders apparently has failed to perform its duty as the shortage of domestic gas cylinders for domestic purposes is only due to black marketing as proprietors of tea stall, Dhabas and confectionery shops openly used domestic cylinders but the authorities are in slumber. Another local from Kathua township, Kanta Devi said that government has introduced subsidy through banks to bring accountability but there is no check on black-marketing as traders who openly use domestic cylinder are affecting the supply and are resulting shortage for common men. She appealed DDC Kathua to check this menace and streamline the system wherein only commercial cylinders must be used for business purposes. |
