Jammu, May 10: In a latest development of Deeli Ration Scam, the police today claimed to have arrested two employees of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Department for diverting government ration worth lakhs of rupees to the private flour mill. "The accused have been identified as Rakesh Kumar Chib, storekeeper Chatha store and Ranjit Singh, Supervisor, police sources said. They said, "The arrest of duo was made effective after police found their involvement in the scam, subsequently their names have been included in the FIR No 32/2016 stands registered since the inception of the scam. "Further investigation of the case is going on and more arrests are likely", a senior police officer said when contacted. If recalled here CA&PD authorities taking the cognizance of the report published in the Early Times in its edition on April 26 under heading 'CAPD ration diverted to M/S Kissan Flour Mill', constituted an inquiry team comprising Deputy Director (Supplies) as Chairman and Deputy Director (P&S) and Assistant Director (T&S). here it needs to mention that During the raid police seized two trucks bearing registration number JK02H/5349 and JK02G/4379 and accordingly an FIR 32/2016 was registered. On the submission of their report, the department suspended licenses of the four private fair shop dealers including as Faquir Chand, dealer, Gurha Brahmana (Rural-1), Arjun Singh, dealer, Talayana (Rural-I), Dharam Paul, dealer, Palassra (Rural I) and Poonam Shamia, dealer Gadigarh (Rural II). |
