Impugned notices shall not be acted upon: HC | Charging of heavy fee by pvt schools | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 10: In a petition filed by 1o private schools alleged to be charging a heavy fee from students, high court judge Tashi Rabstan today issued notice to the Education Secretary, Director School Education, Jammu, and committee for fixation of fee structure of private educational institutions of J&K while ordering that impugned notices would not be acted upon till next date of hearing before the bench and subject to objections from other side. The notices issued to respondents are returnable within two weeks. The petitioners have sought quashment of April 25, 2016 notice issued among others to them also by the committee for fixation of fee structure of private educational institutions, requiring them to submit their objections. They have also sought the quashment of April 20, 2016 notice No FFC/Comp/ JMU/2016/70 and notice No FFC/Comp/ JMU/2016/73 issued to them. The petitioners have also sought directions to respondents to desist from bringing their fee structure within the ambit of fee fixation committee as their schools were registered and affiliated with central board of secondary education (CBSE) and not with J&K state board of school education. A direction was also sought to respondents not to harass and victimise the managements their schools and to allow them to manage and run their respective schools without causing any sort of interference in the fixation of fee structure.
