Early Times Report Srinagar, May 10: Pradesh Mahila Congress president, Indu Pawar today highlighted the steps taken by Congress Party in empowerment of women and also ensured reservation for women in Panchayats, Local Body elections by the party leadership. Indu Pawar President Pardesh Mahila Congress presided over a meeting of Mahila workers in Palpura Noorbagh ridgeback conscience area of Srinagar City in which large number of women activists participated. While addressing gathering, Ms Pawar highlighted the steps taken by Congress Party in empowerment of Women. She said that Congress ensures reservation for women in Panchayats, Local Body elections. "As a result of efforts of Congress the literacy level of Mahila has gone up & today our Mahila's are working with their male colleagues and have excelled in all fields may it be Education, Medical or Engineering sector, she said, adding, "Congress is a Party which believes in Secularism and development of all sections of society without any discrimination of religion, gender etc." "Congress believes in peace tranquility and equal development of our state, she said. Meanwhile referri9ng to the issues of common people, she emphasized that Govt should act fast to mitigate the problems of Road, transport, Traffic, Ration etc. which is suffering of a common poor man. She asked workers to move out and at the grass roots of our society and highlighted the real issues of our people we must come to the rescue of sufferers by providing relief to them.
