Chowki Choura, Gandhi Nagar shine in volleyball 5/11/2016 11:05:21 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, May 11: Chowki Choura and Gandhi Nagar zones won girls under-17 and under-14 volleyball titles respectively in the ongoing inter-zonal competitions of Jammu district, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Government Higher Secondary School, Domana, here. Earlier, in the under-17 final, Chowki Choura defeated Marh zone in straight sets. In under-14 title clash, Gandhi Nagar outplayed Khour zone again in straight sets. Other events of kabaddi and volleyball were still at the initial stages of semifinals and the finals hae been scheduled for tomorrow. KABADDI: In under-14 kabaddi, Chowki Choura zone and Bhalwal zone have made it to the final. In the semifinals, played today, Chowki Choura defeated Arnia zone 33-23 while Bhalwal downed R S Pura 48-32. Meanwhile, in under-17 kabaddi event, Akhnoor and Gandhi Nagar zones qualified for the final. Semifinals: Akhnoor beat Miran Sahib 36-33 and Gandhi Nagar beat Chowki Choura 31-30. KHO-KHO: Akhnoor and R S Pura zone today reached the final of under-14 kho-kho. Semifinals: Akhnoor beat Khour 5-2 and R S Pura outplayed Satwari 6-4. Later, in under-17 kho-kho event, semifinals line-up has been drawn with Dansal, Akhnoor, Miran Sahib and Bhalwal zones reaching the last four stages.
