Govt exploring jobs in private sector: CM | Says everyone can't get a govt job | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 30: Maintaining that everyone cannot be provided a government job, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that the government was exploring all possible job opportunities for the youth in private sector. "Though the government is a big employer in providing job opportunities to the unemployed youths, but it is not possible for the state government to provide government jobs to all the unemployed youth," Mehbooba Mufti told the Legislative Assembly on Monday. The CM during the question hour in the Assembly said that State government is well aware of the problem of unemployment and is exploring possibility of job opportunities for the youths in private sector. She admitted that the different schemes introduced for unemployed youth were not implemented properly. "Yes it is true that the schemes like Udan have not been implemented properly. But I assure the House that government will take every step to ensure that the youth gets maximum support from the government. Mehbooba said that the government has approached the enterpurners to adopt 30 institutes each so that the youth of the state could be benefited. "The government has asked the entrepreneurs within and outside the state to train the state youth with various skills so that the youth of the state becomes self sufficient". Meanwhile the government in a written reply to legislative Assembly on Monday said that the government has launched a number of schemes like Seed Capital, Youth start up loan, National Minority Development Finance Corporation and Women Entrepreneurship programe to tackle the unemployment problem with special emphasis laid down on employment in private sector, self employment and skill development for enhancing employability of the youth. The government has also mentioned that the unemployed youth registered with DE&CCs as on ending March 2016 in the state is 111077. The government has also informed the Legislative Assembly that the orders have been passed to carry out Aadhaar based biometric identification of need based workers and casual labourers working in different departments of the state through an institutional mechanism. "A committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary has been constituted to achieve the objective vide government order no. 126-f of 2016 dated 28.04 2016". |
