Out of power, Omar wants IIT, IIM for Kashmir! | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 27 : The former chief minister and National Conference working president Omar Abdullah is getting narrow minded with each passing day and his statements are making it clear that he is anti-Jammu, and he has now coined the word 'discrimination' with Kashmir. Omar Abdullah, who has been unable to digest the resounding defeat in the Anantnag assembly by-polls, walked out of the LA on Monday for Centre not sanctioning IIT, IIM for Kashmir. "Omar seems to have forgotten that he is the former CM. He has to project himself as custodian of the entire state and not of a particular region. But after losing power he always tried to project himself as a custodian of Kashmir. No CM in the past has at least publicly acted like this. It seems Omar has forgotten all the rules of the game," said a senior PDP leader. Omar ruled JK for full six-years. He was the only CM who had direct and personal access to the Rahul Gandhi and sources said if he wanted he could have got these institutions (IIT andIIM) at least one of the them for Kashmir during Congress rule in Centre. "Rahul Gandhi came to his rescue when the entire leadership was demanding that he should be sacked in 2010. If Rahul Gandhi could save his job then he could have got these two institutions or at least one of them sanctioned for the Valley very easily and no one would have opposed it. When he (Omar) was in power, he was too busy in his own world and didn't bother about it. Out of power he is making unnecessary noise just to remain relevant at least in the Valley, where NC 's space is shrinking with each passing day," said an analyst. |
