Alignment of road from Karool to Badhat altered | Politician's act of vengeance | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 27: Laced with feeling of vengeance against voters of his opponents, a politician had allegedly changed the alignment of road from Karool to Badhat, depriving the villagers of Bhangran and Changawari villages from road facilities. Sanjiv Thakur, a local resident of Bhangran told Early Times that 14 kilometers link road from Karool to Badhat was sanctioned in the year 2009 under scheme PMGSY at an estimate cost of Rs. 11crore and 20 lakhs. "The executing agency same year conducted survey in which both villages wherein no one of the area of Sarthal to Bhangran had any objection pertaining to the road survey", Sanjiv said, adding that village Bhagran has also been covered under the road survey touching Government Middle School Bhagran and village Changawari from RD No 09/25 to 10/950 as per the road survey marking but under political influence few years back the PMGSY officials of Kishtwar division has changed the road alignment between RD No 8/950 to RD No 9/25 their by leaving behind the people of both villages unconnected from the road link. However, the people of both villages also approached the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar regarding changing of road alignment but he failed to intervene. Sanjiv further said that the people of both villages had taken the matter with concerned Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) but astoundingly he has also become mute spectator on this matter. Sanjiv further said that the people of both villages are alleging that its conspiracy towards them in order to suppress them and their fundamental right to get the road connectivity as they are in minority in the area. They further said that we the peoples of both villages' appeal to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene into the matter and take stern action to get both the villages connected by the road link from Karool to Badhat preferably under original road alignment and take stern action against the culprits who changed the road alignment.
