Retrieve govt, forest land from mafia: Tar

Jammu, June 27: Avaam Ki Avaaz, President Inder Mohinder Tar Singh along with over hundred supporters staged protest dharna in front of Divisional Commissioner Office, Panama Chowk, Jammu.
While addressing the gathering Tar Singh said it was quite unfortunate that people of Ranjan, Garotta approached and informed us as they are being harassed by public servants like Girdavar, Patwari and Naib Tehsildar who in connivance with land mafia are very active in the area.
He said that he fail to understand that these public servants have become puppets of land mafia and are tampering with revenue records left and right which is quite unfortunate and of great concern.
Tar Singh said that they are sure that if an enquiry is initiated all over the state of Jammu and Kashmir more such nexus of land mafia and these kinds of public servants will come to the notice of the government.
"Things will be crystal clear. Expressing confidence he said that if an enquiry is initiated then there will be hardly any patwar where this kind of record tampering is not in vogue. Hinting at his recent visit to Sukka Krant in Ranjan, Garotta where aforesaid kind of activities are very common", he said, adding that that they were informed by the natives of Ranjan, Garotta area that they were ousted by land mafia in October 2013.
"Evacuees Property Tenants Welfare Society strongly protested the encroachment by the land mafia who along with their goons comprising of over 400 hundred all carrying deadly weapons, 4-5 JCBs and around 10 tractors with trolleys innumerous other vehicles had made the area as a fortress for weeks together and their boorish attitude had made the local natives of the area confined to respective four walls due to fear and threat to their lives", he added.
Avaam Ki Avaaz urged upon all concerned to come to the rescue of law abiding natives of the aforesaid area so that the situation of October 2013 is not repeated. Accompanied by Madan Lal, Puran Chand, Shashi Bhagat, Tar Singh handed over memorandum in this regard to Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Office Panama Chowk.
