Students, locals protest against PDD, block road 6/27/2016 11:10:51 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, June 27: Student and locals hailing from panchayat lower Mir and Gulha Ban block Panchari of district Udhampur today protested against Power Development Department (PDD) authorities alleging total neglect of two said panchayats. The protestors also blocked the main road to register their resentment. A large number of locals alongwith student from two above mentioned panchayats of Panchari-Udhampur amid slogans against PDD authorities alleged that they are living without electricity and there has been no progress on the ground despite allocation of funds by the centre a few years ago. Villagers said that after 69 years of independence the two panchyata yet are deprived of the power supply. "This villagers totally depended day lights while daily chores and studies of children after the evening hours are dependent upon kerosene lamps. They said that they have submitted several memorandums to concerned departments and officials to cover their village under various schemes State and Central Government but their repeated pleas have been turned down by the official at the helms.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
