BMO runs SDH Bani | | | Arun Trisal Kathua, June 27: While government claims renaissance of development in health sector across the state and highlight their achievements from all political stages, the situation on the ground is far from the claims. Bani, a mountainous tehsil of district Kathua falls 170 km from Kathua town and 250 km from city of winter capital of the state exposes the real face of renaissance in health department. Shockingly, single BMO runs SDH Bani that has load of 45000 population. Ironically SDH has been running without any specialists including most essential Gynecologist and Pediatrician. Local NGO has demanded complete faculty in the remote SDH Bani repeatedly but no action has been initiated in this regard leaving patients in lurch. Numerous patients lost their lives on the way to district Hospital Kathua or GMC Hospital Jammu. Brij Mohan sarpanch Chandal said only BMO and few MBBS doctors run the hospital which has sufficient diagnosis equipments, X-ray machine but no technician to operate them. Plight of nearby dispensaries is no different and people live in worse condition and feel insecure due to shortage of medical assistance in entire remote tehsil, he added. Rattan Sarpanch Asu demanded complete staff and facility in the SDH Bani. They appealed chief Minister of J&K and Dy CM to make a personal visit to assess about the worse condition of the hospital. When contacted, BMO Bani,Sunil Sharma accepted the shortage of staff in the SDH Bani and informed that shortage list has been sent to higher authorities. |
