Mahajan Sabha flays news item about election of President of Sabha | | | Early Times Report Jammu July 15: Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha has expressed its surprise and condemned the new item appeared in a certain media section that Ramesh Chander Gupta has been declared elected as President Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, In a meeting held today under the chairmanship of Vinod Gupta sitting President in which members expressed surprise/ anguish on the unlawful/ unconstitutional act on the part of Om Parkash Gupta (ousted Election Commissioner) who purportedly seems to have released such mischievous news. After having detailed deliberations in the matter it was resolved to issue a clarification and resolved that the news published in local print media conveying election of Ramesh Gupta is misconceived and misleading, as in accordance with decision of the Working Committee dated 26/06/2016 whole of the election process initiated earlier stands declared as null and void. Members present in meeting reiterated that the Working Committee on July 10 has nominated Sunder Mohan Gupta as New Election Commissioner with fixing new date of election as on 25/09/2016. "Thus ousted Election Commission has no locus stand in election process of Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, they said adding, "it is further informed that new Election Commissioner is likely to issue new schedule of Election shortly for conduct of free and fair election of September 25. Among others, present in meeting were Manohar Lai Gupta, Advocate and Ex President, O P Gupta Director Accounts and Treasuries, Shiv Partap Gupta, Sunder Mohan Gupta, Vinay Gupta, Ram Charan Gupta, Rattan Hindu, Pawan Gupta, Ajay Gupta, Raghubir Gupta, Raj Kumar Gupta and Ashok Jandyal. |
