RJACCH flays private telecom operators for digging roads | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 15: An urgent meeting of the Resident Joint Action Committee Channi Himmat (RJACCH) was held today under the Chairmanship of PL Kohli, General Secretary to discuss the worst condition of Lanes/By-Lanes and Drains in the Channi Himmat area due to un- planned digging being done by the private telecom operators for the laying of optical fiber cable in the area. The members present in the meeting raised serious concern in respect of permission granted by the Civil Wing of Housing Board for the grant of permission to the Reliance GIO for the digging of Roads, BY-Lanes in the rainy season resulting huge damage reported to the Roads and Drains resulting great in convenience to the Residents. The damaged parts of the Roads and Drains not yet repaired by the Department resulting damage reported to the property of the Residents and in case of any major accident the human life is at the stake for which the Reliance Company and the Housing Board shall be responsible. The matter brought in to the notice of the Civil wing of the Housing Board, who confirmed that the permission was granted to the Private Telecom Operators on the payment of amount of Rs.45 Lacs for the digging of Burm on the side of the road whereas the major portion of the Roads and Drains damaged by the Company and the Housing Board Officials keep their eyes closed for the reasons best known to the them. |
