| PHE JEs stage protest, demand adherence of codal procedures | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 15: In protest against the alleged wishy-washy working of PHE Department Jammu, the PHE unit of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association Jammu held a strong demonstration here today at Chief Engineer, PHE Office BC Road.
A large number of Junior Engineers belonging to various Divisions of PHE participated in the demonstration.
After the demonstration the Junior Engineers called on Chief Engineer PHE Jammu in his office chamber and demanded adherence of codal procedures including implementation of Civil Accounting System in the Department as the Junior Engineers are being forced' takeup the work departmentally which is against the standing orders of the Administration. They demanded that all the works for regulation of water supply should be put to tender.
They also brought into the notice of the Chief Engineer, the mal practices of Mohammad Tai Choudhary; Executive Engineer PHE Rural Division Jammu and demanded an enquiry against the erring official who is in process of trying to find some way out to continue his corrupt practices.
The Central body of all J&K Diploma Engineers Association led by its President Er Upinder Singh has extended its full support to PHE unit Jammu and also made a representation to Chief Engineer to personally look into the matter who assured the deputation of proper enquiry. |
