JAMMU, July 15: Organised by the J&K Amateur Athletics Association, the Jammu District Athletics Championship concluded today at MA Stadium, here. Sports Officer of the J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC), Rajan Sharma was chief guest, who gave away participation certificates to the young athletes. Earlier, around 50 athletes, including 10 girls, contested for the top honours in track events held in different age groups. Among winning athletes, young Aryaaveer Singh of BSF School stole the show securing 800 meters gold in under-16 age group. Also present in the closing function were SS Gill, Romesh Sharma, Gurcharan Singh, Mohd Shamas-ud-Din and Vinod Bhatia. The Detailed Results: BOYS: Under-14: 60 mts: Sahil Sanotra, Ist; Amandeep, 2nd and Dinesh, 3rd. Under-16: 100 mts: Randeep Singh, Ist; Varun Kumar, 2nd and Aryaaveer Singh, 3rd. 200 mts: Vikas, Ist; Kulvinder, 2nd and Aditya, 3rd. 400 mts: Randeep, Ist; Varun, 2nd and Aditya, 3rd. 800 mts: Aryaarveer Singh, Ist; Sunil Choudhary, 2nd and Maneesh Kumar, 3rd. Under-18: 200 mts: Ajay, Ist; Shubam, 2nd and Gurjeet, 3rd. 400 mts: Ajay Singh, Ist; Shubam, 2nd and Maneesh Kumar, 3rd. GIRLS: Under-14: 60 mts: Gyan Kour, Ist; Akam Kour, 2nd and Gurdev Kour, 3rd.
