| Employees demand action in 'manhandling' of PHE staffer | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, July 15: Public Health Engineering (PHE) employees have demanded lodging of FIR against the miscreants who thrashed and beat up the concerned JE and AEE during a protest held at Kallar Mohra and blocked the Jammu-Poonch highway near Jaran Wali Gali last month, the official sources said here today.
Sources said people alongwith had staged a protest demonstration against the PHE Department Sub Division Mendhar Kallar Mohra and blocked Jammu-Poonch highway near Jaran Wali Gali for erratic water supply to the area last month.
Meanwhile Assistant Executive Engineer PHE Sub Division Mendhar Israr Ahmed Khan and concerned Junior Engineer Shabir Ahmed Khan visited the spot to pacify the protestors on the other day.
To their surprise protestors instead of listening to them, the mob thrashed them up in full public view.
Sources said the AEE and JE had informed the SHO Mendhar Anzar Mir about the incident vide official letter PHE/SDM) 87-89 dtd 14-06-2016 further requesting for lodging on FIR against the miscreants.
PHE Employees also flayed the delay in police action as police has filed to lodge in an FIR so far in the case which according to sources irritated the PHE employees.
Lambasting the police inaction Chairman PHE Employees association Poonch Abdul Hamid Khan said that police must register the case against the miscreants who beat up the Government employees in full public view while performing their duties.
Alleging lackadaisical approach on the part of police in this regard, he warned the authorities and threatened "Kam Chhor Hartal" if matter is further delayed.
PHE employees have appealed to Chief Engineer PHE Poonch and District Development Commissioner to take cognizance of police inaction in the matter. |
