Early Times Report Jammu, July 15: The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) today directed the Director Agriculture, Kashmir, to appear before it on August 1, 2016 for explaining the reasons of inaction on his part in a complaint about an appointment made in the department on the basis of a fake B Sc Agriculture degree which the accused was alleged to have obtained from BR Ambedkar University, Agra. The SVC, while taking a strong note of the illegal appointment of one Aijaz Ahmad, son of Abdul Hamid of Hardutoora, Anantnag, on the basis of an alleged fake B Sc Agriculture degree obtained by him from BR Ambedkar University, Agra, summoned the director agriculture, Kashmir, to personally appear before it on August 1, 2016. The complaint in this regard was filed with SVC by one Bilal Ahmad Mantoo of Aadbal Dooru, Anantnag. Taking a cognizance of the complaint, SVC had sought a report from the university registrar. The report submitted by the registrar was forwarded by SVC to departmental vigilance officer, directorate of agriculture, Kashmir for his recommendation to the director agriculture, Kashmir, who, in turn, would submit the final action taken report (ATR) to the Commission by or before April 4, 2016. The director, however, failed to submit ATR in the matter before the deadline fixed by SVC. Taking a serious note of the matter, SVC sought the personal appearance of the director before it on August 1, 2016 to explain the continued inaction by him in such an open fraudulent case which was being referred to the crime branch for registering a case in this regard. |
