Fruit growing compartment of social forestry in shambles 7/27/2016 10:42:13 PM Early Times Report POONCH, July 27: A compartment of social forestry wherein lakhs of rupees were invested for the plantation of 3950 trees during the year 2014-15 is in complete shambles but the Forest Department has turned a blind eye towards the situation. According to sources people of the Fatehpur village in Madi tehsil alleged that officials of the department have misplaced the plants and covering items of said compartment. Javid Reshi, a local said the department planted apple and other fruit trees there which have been totally destroyed. He said, social forestry has invested lakhs of rupees previously for the same compartment four years ago. Reshi said the covering material has been swindled by the department. He appealed the Forest Minister Lal Singh to intervene in the matter and iniate an impartial probe into it.
